1. About the Service
functionalskillsmaths.online is a service provided by Developing Maths Ltd ("we", "us", "our", "the Service"), an online educational platform providing Functional Skills Maths revision resources, including:
- A library of past papers and mark schemes from multiple exam boards
- A level assessment tool to help determine appropriate study level
- Practice exam assessments (where available)

2. Eligibility and Accounts
To access certain features (such as the level assessment and saving results), you must create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that:
- The information you provide is accurate and up to date
- You are either aged 18 or over, or are using the service under the supervision of a teacher or responsible adult
- You will keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with others
- You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account
Teacher accounts may only be created using a valid teacher registration code. By registering as a teacher, you confirm you are an authorised educator and take responsibility for any pupil accounts you create.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended educational purpose. You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or another user's account
- Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or any harmful content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, or reproduce the Service or its content
- Use automated tools or bots to access the Service
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable UK law
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these terms without notice.
4. Past Papers and Intellectual Property
You may:
- View and download past papers for your own personal study
- Print papers for personal use
You may not:
- Redistribute, republish, or sell past papers or mark schemes
- Use papers for commercial purposes without permission from the relevant exam board
- Remove or obscure any copyright notices on the papers
All original content on the platform (including the assessment questions, platform design, and software) is owned by Developing Maths Ltd and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.
5. Assessment Content and Exam Results
The level assessment and practice exams provided on this platform are designed as revision and guidance tools only. They are not official qualifications and results must not be treated as such. In particular:
- A level recommendation is indicative only and does not guarantee performance in a real exam
- A "pass" result on a practice exam does not guarantee you will pass an official qualification
- Performance on this platform may not reflect performance under official exam conditions
- We recommend consulting your teacher or learning provider before deciding which level to sit
6. Complaints
If you have a complaint about the Service, please contact us in the first instance by emailing phil@developingmaths.co.uk with a clear description of your concern. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to provide a full response within 5 working days.
If you remain dissatisfied after our response, you may escalate your complaint in writing to the same address, marking it for the attention of the Director.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
- That assessment results will accurately predict exam performance
- That all past papers are complete, current, or free from errors
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Developing Maths Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or results
- Failure to pass an exam
- Decisions made based on assessment recommendations
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £50, whichever is greater).
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
9. Third-Party Content
Past papers and mark schemes are produced by third-party exam boards. We are not responsible for any errors, omissions, or changes in exam board materials. For official and up-to-date papers, always check the relevant exam board's website directly.
10. Service Availability
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access. We may suspend or withdraw the Service at any time, with or without notice, for maintenance, updates, or any other reason.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time if you breach these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
