Functional Skills Maths is a UK qualification that tests practical, everyday maths. It is offered at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2, and is widely accepted as an alternative to GCSE Maths for college, apprenticeships and employment.
Level 1 covers core skills such as whole numbers, fractions, percentages, basic measures and simple data. Level 2 is broader and harder — including ratio and proportion, area and volume, and interpreting statistics — and is broadly equivalent to a GCSE grade 1 to 4.

We have papers from all major boards — AQA, Pearson Edexcel, NCFE, NOCN, City & Guilds, Open Awards and TQUK — for both Level 1 and Level 2.
The exam has two sections — a non-calculator section and a calculator section. Our practice exams mirror this: you complete the non-calculator section first, then unlock the calculator section.
